cancel@andrewrk they did once force one on me (and others) a couple of years ago while bypassing the password prompt. I managed to catch it in time and stop it due to network traffic blinkenlights. Others weren’t so lucky. Lots of people were pissed.

shironeko@andrewrk I remember a Snow Leopard system I had once tried to update itself automatically and just got stuck, it stayed stuck like that forever all the way til I retired that system

Please do not recommend Kali as a general-purpose OS. Unlike other Linux distros like Ubuntu or Fedora, it's not meant for that. Even the official Kali documentation says not to use it for that:

@phi1997 @andrewrk We recommed it for cyberdecks, skids, and Agents of THOSE WHO KNOW for wage matrix disruption. For general use, we recommend Fedora. It's used by many of THOSE WHO KNOW at the VLC 2.9 Foundation. However, we believe that the next big thing is skids using Kali Linux on ThinkPads to disrupt the wage matrix.
