it has been 0️⃣ days since someone with a "please be patient, I have autism πŸ₯Ί" avatar said something very annoying, got blocked, and then hopped on their alt (that I assume they have because people keep blocking them) to cuss me out for blocking them
reader, they came back with a third account to call me a liar. I open myself to trial and judgment from the jury on this one.
okay but serious talk, I'm only mentioning this at all because it's a rare enough occurrence to distinguish between them. when I first got serious about mastodon during the great migration a few years ago, there were more antagonizers, but it's calmed down. I think my local @jerry must have good taste in moderation because I'm rarely bothered by randos but I also don't ever find myself unable to follow someone because their ten-thousand-user instance got defederated over a trivial drama three years ago

@0xabad1dea @jerry Jerry and the moderates here do a good job for sure!

People that have alts should do like I do and all name them the same thing. Way easier to find and block πŸ‘

@catsalad @0xabad1dea @jerry y'know I just assume it's one biblically accurate CatSalad. No don't illustrate this post.
@drj @0xabad1dea @jerry Tsk...
*puts away my illustration*
@catsalad @0xabad1dea aw, but, y'know, i don't wanna spoil your fun either

@catsalad @0xabad1dea @jerry

I use this instance to find out what types of evil are out there that may want to hurt my machines.

And possums every hour.

I do have an alt that I use to play with, and say things that my employer can't attribute to me. I hope. 😁 But now I'm wondering what kind of hilarity I could create with multiple alts with the same name.

It sounds like work though, so maybe not.

@0xabad1dea I'm far from perfect, but I try to do a good job for the community
@jerry @0xabad1dea You do, Jerry. Do you ever. πŸ’š
@0xabad1dea one million years twitter jail

@0xabad1dea Reminds me of this exchange: https://youtu.be/gsM9bQvpt_c?t=229

(I recently watched about 4 hours of her videos, drama about a webcomic I've never read before. That's like 1.5 Hbomberguys worth of content.)

Homestuck Sent Me A Legal Threat, And Then It Got Worse

YouTube
@0xabad1dea at this point i’d lean back and grab some popcorn
@0xabad1dea I'm not one to jump at the guy who just made a Bad Postβ„’; but I feel like replying to the post made by the guy who just blocked you twice about blocking you twice to complain about being blocked twice, is an invitation for other even more annoying internet people to jump at you
@frikinin I make a point of never putting the usernames of people I'm complaining about/laughing at in my top-level public posts, because indeed it's never my intent to start a harassment storm. However, every single @ that gets sent to me is seen by many other people, whether I draw attention to its existence or not. So indeed, being a clown in my mentions is running a high risk of catching some feedback
@0xabad1dea that's a block and report offence, on three, side of spicy.
@0xabad1dea happened to me last week too. their profile had one of those classic "you might not like what I have to say" lines that comes so close to self-awareness while really just meaning "I will make no effort not to be an asshole".
@gsuberland @0xabad1dea
it is also okay to block people just for being annoying
@m @0xabad1dea I try to give people a chance to be nicer when told they're being an ass, but otherwise yeah it's a swift YEET
@0xabad1dea also people can still be a dick when they’re autistic. why some people think it’s ok to use that as a blanket excuse is beyond me.

@0xabad1dea

Ooh, on its own server. So easy to defederate for me.

@Michael haha yeah that's what made it so clear it was their alt
@0xabad1dea that's infuriating to see happen, especially considering that i feel that my autism has made me overly aware of how what i say may affect others, if anything
@0xabad1dea

>hopped on their alt to cuss me out

so not only are you a reactionary. you are also a liar. lol
@lmfao log off and go to bed, you're clearly up way past your bedtime.

@0xabad1dea

I've never heard of blockbot but it seems like a fantastic way to keep a negative interaction going way longer than it needs to

@0xabad1dea grrrrr.... I know quite a few autistic folk, and love at least two of them deeply (one's a fosterling, the other is second-gen found-family)... AND it doesn't excuse _rudeness_.
