Big BIG shoutout to BC Ferries crew of the Spirit of Vancouver Island and Queen of New Westminster who rescued a passenger who fell overboard in a matter of minutes!

"They said they anticipated about an hour's delay on the Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay route as a result."

There are longer delays created by simple traffic congestion at the terminals!!

Hope the passenger was OK.

@chris Wow! I saw lots of drills in my time going back and forth on the ferries, glad it all paid off!

(Also the Queen of New West is my least favourite ferry, and hilariously ended up being the ferry I took as I was moving permanently away from Vancouver Island!)

@sundogplanets training works! I am sure those crew will have a story to tell.

Hahaha. Awww, no love for the QNW!? She's a venerable old lady. Her and the other Queens are the only ones I generally take from Nanaimo so they just feel like home to me! I just wish they still had video arcades. πŸ˜‚

@chris Haha yeah I ended up on that specific ferry way more often than statistically likely when I lived on the island, and my oldest was a very small kid at the time, and that one has the crappiest playground. So yeah, I dislike that ferry, but definitely in a friendly sort of way.

I'm hoping to make it out to the island again sometime in the winter months, and I'm gonna bet right now that somehow I'll end up on that ferry again!

@chris Good Job to the BC Ferries personnel πŸ‘πŸ‘
