I’m not one to interfere, but a vulnerable woman wandering around at night was clearly not going to end well. I recognized Nichole from the 8 PM convenience store, walking down the road ahead of me. She was coatless on a cold autumn evening, and from her staggering gait, I guessed she had been drinking.

@NaraMoore I called out her name and hastened my pace to reach her, yet she did not even turn. She ignored all my greetings and continued on, not even lifting her head to give a hint whether she had registered my presence or not. I mustered the courage to gently place my hand on her shoulder, my worry for her trumping my social anxiety - and froze.

I walked faster, making it just in time to prevent her falling over, she slammed into my arms and I barely stood ground, her body wasn't heavy, after all she was a good bit smaller than me, but the force, as she fell, surprised me.

Her eyes fixated on me and her gaze seemed... clouded but kinda happy, I would say, she clearly was intoxicated but didn't smelled like booze more sweaty, I gently supported her stand, slipped out of my jacket and throw it over her shoulders.

I considered if I should call an ambulance but she smiled worryingly and spoke with forced control: "Hey ar'nd you Ja... ja... Janet, I'm lossst... my glucose... Can'u take me home, please?"
