Well, I say stupidity. Maybe it's just corruption. Perhaps her sponsors have interests in oil companies and she thinks that whatever bung they're offering her makes letting the planet burn a small price to pay.

If I think about Tory leaders in my lifetime, I can think "corrupt" fits a few, but until the advent of Truss and now Badenoch, I couldn't think of any who were genuinely thick. Badenoch may actually be too stupid to be corrupt.

@LocalZero_Ulm I suspect that there isn't an English translation. If I search for the author's name on Amazon UK the only hit I get is the Italian version, and I can't help thinking that if there were an English translation they'd try to sell it to me
