For kindergartners: you keep working for them regardless of proper pay, you give them power.

You complain on the internet instead of burning their yacht and mansion down.

Very simple; that's not "awlays" the conversation, and to claim that it is is ignorant. PLENTY of people whine about what the wealthy spend their money on and the wages they pay.

@AlexanderKingsbury yeah for sure. This is just reddit propaganda to get people into the passive habits of complaining rather than doing anything about it.

"Things are bad because you aren't complaining enough!"

@cowboy_oh_gee

Personally, I don't care to "do anything" about wealthy people; I figure they can worry about themselves. As to the people making low wages, it sometimes astounds me how many people have such a simple idea about "well, just pay them MORE!!", and yet none of them ever seem to be starting companies that offer a better situation.

@AlexanderKingsbury the complaint here isn't about wealthy people. Its about exploitative employers.

Easiest businesses are ones that exploit their employees and customers. But I know plenty of businesses that treat their employees well and are better off for it in the long run

Making the leap from "poor person" to "successful business owner" when you look at how education and networks tie in, is uphill compared to someone born into those resources.

@cowboy_oh_gee

Most things that people want to accomplish are "uphill". Sure, some people have advantages that others do not; that will never change.

If someone takes a job voluntarily, stays there willingly, I am not fit to judge that they are being "exploited". I do not know their life, and since they choose to stay, they must have a reason for that choice. If someone else wants to offer them a better job elsewhere, great! Competing employers are one of the best weapons an employee has.

@AlexanderKingsbury I agree, first thing I said was stop working for parasitic employers.

However there are those who can't pay rent and have an available job market where 9/10 take as much as much of your life force as possible for pennies. its bad for all people as a potentiality, to support these organizations in any way. Even if you are not in despair, but do nothing to stop disparity, you may find yourself on the crunch end someday as the slope gets too steep for even you to hold on.

@cowboy_oh_gee

I very well may find myself the victim of misfortune some day. But even if I didn't think that, I would still support the existence and creation of good opportunities for as many people as possible. That's part of the reason I'm a capitalist, and a libertarian. I don't want a person in a bad job to be told their job is bad and that it will be outlawed; that doesn't help them. I want someone to offer them a better job. As to "disparity", I know of no good reason to care about it.

@AlexanderKingsbury centralization of power?

@cowboy_oh_gee

Centralization of power is not primarily a function of economic disparity. Now, centralization of power can and often does LEAD to economic disparity, but economic disparity also comes about via entirely legitimate means. Plenty of entertainers, for example, are very wealthy, and not because they ever took a penny from anyone by force.

I am no more interested in punishing them than I am for punishing a weight lifter for having more power than I do.

@AlexanderKingsbury I'm not so sure you are really libertarian but there are many colors of the rainbow I guess. Small government, focus on local gov is all about reducing centralization and thus the avenues for corruption taking force in ones life.

@cowboy_oh_gee

You are far from the first who feels a need or urge to conclude that I am lying about my own beliefs. I'm not sure why you feel that urge, but you do you.

@AlexanderKingsbury not calling you a liar just saying its not lining up. That's OK though doesn't need to
