After an extra long day yesterday, I finished work early today. And I went "hiking". In quotation marks because it was a very slow and relaxed affair, stopping often to smell the air and watch the bugs and hug the trees.

Just past that bench in the previous post, you come out to this view. The gray skies were turning to blue.

I wonder what this tree stump wants to tell me.

Saw this cool funnel web with ominous legs

And I saw a monarch!

And a bumblebee on sneeze weed. I guess my allergy pill was working because it didn't make me sneeze. And such amazing flowers.

A pretty clearing in the forest

@dillyd The name “Sneezeweed” is unfair to a perfectly nice plant. I have no idea who came up with that.
@dillyd just a historical note, sneezeweed used to be used as a medicinal snuff powder, to be sniffed (which made people sneeze)hence the name. I dont know if its wind pollinate or not, but bees liking it suggests not. Most autumn pollen allergies are caused by grasses, ragweed, and some evergreens
@dillyd I think there’s something hungry in there.
@dillyd it looks like it’s singing.
