According to our telemetry, 100% of our users have telemetry enabled
@mcc They sure do download the installer a ton though.
@mcc Awesome! Is this part of your test suite to make sure settings take effect properly or something? I'm impressed if so.
@mcc According to our analysis, "Floating point exception (core dumped)".
@mcc
For this reason, we believe continuing to offer an opt-out is unnecessary and the feature will be removed in the next update.
@mcc Thank you for correctly implementing consent in your telemetry settings.
@mcc Just like everyone is in the streets: https://xkcd.com/2357

@mcc

Ah-ha! This thinking is probably why those stupid follow-up surveys hit my inbox after every purchase:-

"According to our analysis, 100% of our survey respondents are happy to respond to our surveys." 🤦‍♂️

@mcc

There, that should clear up any misunderstanding of reports that users don't actually want telemetry

@mcc any number less than 100% would be cause for concern.
@mcc a technique I have found useful is having a second, more limited telemetry system that reports whether the other telemetry system is enabled
@wjt @mcc Which we will also forcibly disable because fuck telemetry.
@mcc Wow, that’s a high number everything considered.
