The project would mark an extraordinary intervention in the management of the capital. The admin has already flooded the streets with #NationalGuard troops from across the country & ordered a #takeover of the #police force.

The campaign has backed top #DC ofcls into a corner. They have spent the last 6 months trying to placate #Trump …to avoid his ire. Now, with little leverage, they are struggling to determine their role & how to limit Trump’s intervention in their affairs.

…The longtime real estate developer & golf club owner has taken a special interest in the aesthetics of #Washington. #Trump mentioned rusting light poles with mismatched lenses [wtf?], & he promised to fix the roads with “beautiful, well done asphalt.” On Thursday during a visit to a US Park Police facility in Southeast Washington, Trump also promised to improve the grass [seriously] in #DC parks to resemble Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia or his own clubs.
