@carusb It’s a long way, to Tipperary
@kaiser_franz For some reason that was a filtered notification!?
@carusb Oh no, did I accidentally press a button? 🤣
@kaiser_franz Turns out I wasn't following you; I guess the route you took, moving to pixelfed then opening a new account on infosec, meant you lost followers. Still following the pixelfed one, now following the infosec one. But there must be another explanation, my filters should not have fired.

@carusb thank you - something definitely happened. I went from 60 or so to 0 (now more) throughout the migrations, which to be clear I don't care about the count, but there's a lot of people I enjoy having conversations with.

My understanding is the migration between Mastodon and Pixelfed is imperfect, so that's where the breakdown seems to have happened.

Oh well! Worse things have happened to better people

Trees like clouds. Wonderful!
@schoenswetter Thank you Karl (?).
correct. karl. ;-).
@carusb great shot! Do you think a yellow filter is enough to have our would you recommend other colors too?
@filmisnotdead I'm not sure a yellow filter is needed for that photo, but I usually have a yellow, occasionally orange (stronger) filter on the lens to add more contrast in the sky. Red is even stronger but you lose quite a bit more light. If you're lazy like me and leave it on all the time, a yellow is a good compromise.
@carusb It’s a long way, to Tipperary
@kaiser_franz For some reason that was a filtered notification!?

@kaiser_franz Ah it was the "new accounts" filter. Might change that one!

@kaiser_franz The pub is literally a long wy from any sizable settlement, which is one of the reasons for its demise (plus the drink driving laws).
@carusb Makes sense, although I’m sure the one poor bloke who lives within walking distance is pouring a glass of whisky to hisself reflecting on its demise
@carusb (At least I would if I were he, I used to live two blocks from a great bar but since moving to the suburbs I now have to pour my own pints like an animal!)
@carusb I'm impressed! Doing this stuff on digital is much easier. You see the results instantly and can tweak things. With film, you don't have that luxury.
@tapasinthesun Yes, it's a real lottery. And being expensive means I don't try so often, which then means I can't quite remember which moves work out! Strangely, some of my very earliest efforts in ICM were the best; expired Reala 100 might have had something to do with that!
@carusb That's very interesting, I like it!
@elkarrde Thanks Neven. It works surprisingly well. Helps that these old films can be used at such a low ISO, so with a ND8 these longer shutter speeds work in daylight, but I guess you can achieve the same on digi with more filters!
@carusb You are not only a photographer but also a painter šŸ§‘ā€šŸŽØ
@andre Thanks Andre. I do like the weirdness. These would be a LOT simpler if I used a digicam!
@carusb Interesting tree; certainly different.
@tapasinthesun I can't remember (over 50 years ago) but I suspect it broke at some point, struggled to survive and then died. It's a semi-desert area, 7 inch rainfall but mostly in a few storms.
@carusb Very lovely.
@tomnorthfilm Thanks Tom. I can't help feeling a bit of a cheat though, as I took out an entire dangling branch in that sky are top left. But this particular section of graveyard, which I might walk through several times a week on the way across to town, is irresistible at that time of year.
@carusb Looks great to me. If you knew how, you could remove things like that in the darkroom too.
@carusb That yellow filter really made the foliage pop.
@tomnorthfilm Thanks Tom. That must have been late April so they were very new leaves, and taken more or less towards the sun, which probably contributes. Some of them look almost IR, but I've not yet tried IR so maybe the effect there is different.
