I never suggested berating the woman. There are methods to confront the woman that don't require insults or response-in-kind. The former doesn't even work because it just escalates the emotional stupidity. You deal with her exactly the same way you would an angry customer on a tech support call.

I have experience in refusing to respond in kind and approaching confrontations factually and logically. No one trained me, it just came naturally. I was designated the "man of last resort" at one company for resolving technical issues that could retain a (corporate) customer.
It can be done. It demands emotional dissociation.
