I absolutely love receiving messages like this, and I'm happy to see friends from the #yoyo community dipping their toes into the fediverse!

In this message, @motmot is asking if there good for yo-yoers, so I thought I'd ask for suggestions. Any #skilltoy or #juggling themed Mastodon servers out there for him to check out?

@RussSharek and [email protected] are good people to ask, according to Trunk;

I'd also ask @peterdrake, @yaxu, @DToher, and maybe @chestas.

I can't speak to instances, but following hashtags like #juggling can help you find people.

Indeed. But keep in mind that searching or following a tag can only show you posts your service knows about. Not every post on the fediverse with that tag. There are some technical reasons why search is so limited here, but the main reasons are social and cultural;

How you could build a search that the fediverse would welcome - Anil Dash

A blog about making culture. Since 1999.

Searching the threadiverse offers a different slice of the verse. For example, a quick search for "juggling" on a Lemmy service turned up this bit of entertainment;

Is it weird to juggle in the park? - Lemmy.World

I’m an adult male who works downtown near a pretty nice park. Now that the weather is getting better, I’d like to get outside at lunch and work on juggling. I’ve never done it because I don’t want to the the weirdo that’s juggling in the middle of the day, but I don’t really have any other time when I can practice in an open space. Would it be weird if you were in a park and a grown up man was there juggling? Edit: Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. It probably says a lot about what I think about people who choose to mind their own business while engaging in things they enjoy in their spare time. I’ve learned a lot here. There also doesn’t seem to be a juggling/flow arts Lemmy community so maybe that’s something we can do.
