“I’ve got an exclusive for you. We’re offering Google $34.5 billion to buy Chrome.”

“You’re not talking to anyone else?”

“Nope, exclusive for the Journal. I definitely do not have a colleague sitting next to me on the phone with Bloomberg as we speak.”

@gruber maybe they just copied 🤔
@Jann @gruber 8 minutes would be quick for a copy, unless Bloomberg used an AI-generated summary of the WSJ article for their own, which would be pretty shady. Seems more likely to me that Perplexity just lied about the exclusive.
@gruber what could go wrong? /s
@gruber was the article fleshed out or was it a one paragraph with something along the lines of “more to follow…” ?
@gruber It was exclusive, for 8 minutes 🤣
@gruber is Bloomberg also claiming their report is exclusive or was the “Exclusive!” a ha-ha? Because it would be great if BOTH said they had an exclusive.
@paulpaulone I wish, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had thought it was exclusive, but I'm sure they saw the WSJ story go online first. 8 minutes is, I swear, a long time in their racket.
@gruber Can I know which screenshot markup app this is?

@krishna @gruber

It has the hallmark "fading arrows" of Aged & Distilled's Napkin.app, to my eyes at least.

@macfixer @krishna It is indeed Napkin. Which alas, is defunct. I have a samizdat up-to-date version.
@gruber is this like the old days, where I can pass you a floppy disk for a copy? I'd love to use Napkin again.
