I might have a few things to say today as I start a new habit of posting random things in my head on the tag #TuesdaysThoughts every Tuesday.

2/ One of my most prized possessions is my grandfather's screwdriver.

He was born in 1912, died in 1991. He raised me. I went home from the hospital as an infant into their home.

I can't remember a time in my life when that screwdriver wasn't a part of it. I'm in my early to mid-50s. #TuesdaysThoughts

@paul Oh, that's beautiful. I have my grandfather's multitool. I grew up fidgeting with it whenever he'd let me, and when I moved away from my parents and went to live with them, he gave it to me. I use it for something every day.
@paul my husband has his grandmother's bacon fork. I mean it's just a fork, nothing makes it "for bacon". It is smallish and aged and was probably made anyplace between 1850 and 1910... And it sits by the stove explicitly for bacon turning and nothing else. It has the kind of ever present connection to his childhood and family I suspect your screwdriver has. They're small good things.
@paul Know what you mean. I've got several of my father's tools.
@paul hey, that looks familiar!!! (From grampa's toolbox ... wonder if we still have it? )
@catmisgivings They hand used to be wood carved like a hex from the factory but by now, it is round and smooth from decades of use.
