The following is an update on evacuation shelters, animal shelters, and resources centers:

An evacuation shelter has been established at Arroyo Grande High School located at 495 Valley Rd., Arroyo Grande. Household pets are welcome. American Red Cross staff are on site to assist and provide information. Call (805) 543-2444 with questions.

A large animal shelter has been established at Elks Rodeo Grounds located at 4040 Highway 101, Santa Maria. Enter Morningside Drive, Gate 2. For large animal evacuation assistance, please contact Horse Emergency Evacuation Team (HEET) at 805-466-7457.

A small household animal shelter has been established at SLO County Animal Services Shelter, 865 Oklahoma Ave, San Luis Obispo. Please call ahead if bringing an animal to the shelter. For small animal evacuation assistance, please contact SLO County Animal Services at 805-781-4800.

In Santa Barbara County, small/domestic animals can also be taken to the following locations:

548 W Foster Rd, Santa Maria (open until 6pm)
1501 W Central Ave, Lompoc (open until 6pm)
5473 Overpass Rd, Goleta (open until 6pm)
111 Commerce Dr, Buellton (open to 5pm)

A Temporary Evacuation Point and Community Information & Resource Center is located at Cuyama Valley Family Resource Center, 4689 Highway 166, New Cuyama. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday (9am - 4pm). Residents can access this location for relief from the heat and smoke. N95 masks, water bottles, and incident information are available onsite. Stop by County Fire Station 27 for masks Saturday & Sunday 10am-4pm.

The Temporary Evacuation Point at Benjamin Foxen Elementary School is now closed.
