Our family doctor smoked during office visits when I was a child.
Wowser!!!
@SmudgeTheInsultCat Yes, and they were made from *asbestos*!!
I still remember the uniquely squishy texture of a handful of asbestos. It's a wonder any of us are alive.
@SmudgeTheInsultCat
Yup. Guilty as charged.
(This was first or second grade, made of clay. I like to think that if I had been older I would not have even considered making one.)
Heh. We were made to cover a bottle in plasticine and "decorate" it with peas. Mum still brings that up, guess she was really "pleased" with the gift! :-D
Oh, and we used to make up boxes for postal deliveries in our craft lessons. They even paid something for that!
And if I remember how we used to gather acorns in the evenings with our torches! Oh man, acorns! And they paid for that too!
Oh, and we used to turn wooden pins on the laith! For that, bloody hell, we had to go to the woods and bring back a birch log!
And when the tech teacher wasn't hungover enough, we were sawing rebar with hacksaws, bloody hell. Why? Well, just to have something to do! :-D
@SmudgeTheInsultCat I made one out of metal, pounding it with a mallet into a wooden die after heating it.
Never used, since we didn't smoke. π
