The EU-US transatlantic partnership is the most significant bilateral trade and investment relationship in the world.

The EU-US deal restores stability and predictability for citizens and businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.

Here's what it means - https://europa.eu/!vFrJwc

@EUCommission And we caved in for a bully, fantastic work.
@trollkatt @EUCommission Nothing is signed yet. This is just a stalling tactic. Bad PR now but this is better than negotiating during a trade war.
@bart @EUCommission I hope you're right...
@trollkatt @EUCommission They are not idiots I think. I also find it likely that the EU is making consessions on trade, so the US puts pressure on Russia again, which they seem to be doing now (always a question if they follow through though).
@bart @trollkatt @EUCommission hopefully one day we won't have to make those kinds of concessions. But yeah, you've got a point.
@EUCommission
Oh yes. Because bending over to a narcissistic psychopath did so much good for Europe in the past, right? But that'd require the "enlightened West" to have any semblance of spine instead of looking for ways to screw over your constituents.
@EUCommission I bet this deal guarantees "peace for our time."

@EUCommission

You were grabbed by the pussy behind the closed doors of a golf resort, and now you're calling it the best sex you've ever had.

@EUCommission I hear Putin needs a new clown to replace Lavrov - you might want to apply.
🀑

@EUCommission Giving into the fascist orange bully, who will come back demanding more and more and more!

You can pat yourselves on the back all you like because it won't hurt you or the very rich, its the rest of us, that'll be ground down!

What weak and feeble leadership, that you couldn't draw a line and say No!

@EUCommission It means you crumbled in front of the bully instead of standing up to him. Shame, you could have shown the rest of the world that the United States needs the world more than the world needs the United States.
@EUCommission how much taxes paid last quartal the big tech companies in EU? I mean Microsoft, Amazon, Netflix, ...

@EUCommission Chill down folks. This is just a framework agreement and not legally binding. More negotiations will happen out of the spotlight.
Currently 15% tariff will apply to ~70% of EU goods. EU pledged to buy $750 billion of US energy products but US does not produce that much. The deal completion will require backing of a majority of EU countries.
I understand the sentiment but devil is in the details.

The EU’s β€˜fantasy’ $750B energy promise to Trump

Technical issues, limited U.S. supplies and the EU’s minimal control over imports render the pledge infeasible, experts say.

POLITICO

@EUCommission it’s profoundly disheartening that the European Union has chosen to dignify transactional bullying with a handshake.
This haunts me in my dreams because I’m fundamentally pro EU.

It’s an utter disgrace to see how easy it was for President Trump to play apart the member states of the so-called β€œUnion”.

It pains me to see how the European Union hits the snooze button over and over again. 2014 (Krim) and 2016 (first term) were misted wake up calls.

@EUCommission we caved for a bully. What a shitshow
@EUCommission you do know you're supposed to defend the interests of Europeans and not Trump, right?
@EUCommission this is pure shame, if this clown wants a trade war let's give it to him. We need to invest in European defence, energy and services. Please create tech-giant taxation on the level equal to his tariffs, simply bind it. Americans will change president in a month afterwards.
@EUCommission what it means is this: you should be ashamed.
@EUCommission I feel sick. I stopped buying USA products after the Zelinski disaster. I’m done.

@EUCommission This deal makes us look pathetic, I'd rather eat the tariffs. We can create strategic alliances with other partners than the US. This is a matter of principle, and you are failing your citizens.

We don't want to pay the US a fee to bully us. This appeasement will not work.

@EUCommission
Must be fun, to be Donald Trump's Bedside rug.
@EUCommission a bunch of scared little children lost in the forest
@EUCommission Let’s be honest: the EU was totally taken for a ride. I can’t believe how poorly you represented yourselves - and therefore usπŸ‘Ž
@EUCommission shame on you to succumb to an evil clown dictator.
@EUCommission F*** US! thanks to all you .... We loose any privacy in our lifes, as you granted all to this big US companies and don't help any of the important local ones, like JOLLA! We MUST be independent. Is good having alies, is not good being his slave!
@EUCommission - the EU caved - like everyone else has been doing - to a lunatic whose goal has nothing to do with fairness, or what is best.
15% tariffs will hurt both EU and US citizens, while no reciprocal penalties mean that there is nothing preventing US products from overwhelming the quality and safety of products the EU is known for.
A trading partner should have done far better for its citizens. Found reliable (read sane) trading partners instead.

@EUCommission In what fantasy World are you living?

Clearly the insanity epidemic in the US has spread to Von Der Leyen and the EU Commission!

@EUCommission I urge anyone who reads this to call or email their countries EU MEPs and let them no you do not support this trade deal and want to see it canceled as soon as possible.
@EUCommission The key word is 'bilateral'. This 'deal' is a robbery by the American government: against European citizens, our rights, our values, our freedom, our money. We should have defended our sovereignty better.
@EUCommission nothing is stable with #trump he violated the agreement with #canada and #mexico the agreement he negotiated and signed during his first term. The only stability will come when the #EU #canada #mexico and others sign agreements and isolate the #US we need to buy from one another and cut the US out.

EU and US spin conflicting versions of trade deal

The European Commission and the White House are making contradictory claims about the content and scope of the EU-US trade deal. #EuropeNews

euronews
@EUCommission Disappointed that the EU can't stand up to a bully.
@EUCommission US people are never going to see stability in the forseeable future
@EUCommission das ist kein Deal das ist eine Kapitulation
@EUCommission What are the under table deals, not taxing and regulating US service too much?
