The #Handala is carrying aid for #Gaza, within the limits of its modest possibilities. The civilians on board are unarmed.

It is likely that the ship will be illegally hijacked tonight, in international waters, or even attacked, like its predecessor, the #Madleen – also part of the #FreedomFlotilla.

What kind of state starves civilians in #Gaza, and fights small ships carrying a pitiful amount of food and medical supplies?

#Israel does not fight those ships, it fights the tiny bit of remaining humanity they stand for.

You can choose whether you want to stand with such merciless desire to destroy, and possibly the inconsequential consternation expressed by your government. I suggest you speak up, instead.

@katzenberger it's not an illegal hijacking if it's trespassing a designated area.

  • That's like complaining that one gets arrested for refusing to yield at closed road.

@kkarhan
The ICJs AO from last year was clear: the whole presence and control of Palestine by the state of Israel is completely illegal. Therefore the Blockade could not be legal.

Israels goal in hijacking a foreign vessel is in itself illegal Why? Starvation is a war crime.

@katzenberger

@stephie_hamburg @katzenberger granted, driving with a recreational yacht into a sea blockade has never succeeded and said actions have done diddly-piss to alleviate the situation.

  • I mean, it would've been totally feasible to send some "narco" torpedoes onto the beach of Gaza packed with aid, but we all know this ain't as photogenous...

This doesn't take much science and would've been trivial to do, abeit expensive in a feasible quantity.

@[email protected] legality aside, I consider these #FreedomFlotilla actions just expensive *"clout-chasing"* as none of them ever succeeded and all they do is get ships seizedband people deported and banned from reentry. - It's the medterranean equivalent of driving up to Groom Lake AFB demanding to *"see the aliens"* and woundering why one gets dragged out if one's car after passing the 3rd *"No Trespassing Sign"* in Jackass Flats. None if it is productive nor does it work and it ends up to be a massive waste of fuel, resources and money that would've been more effectively invested in actually helping the people in Gaza. - IOW: "One desn't get to pretent to be noble by [doing *some random shit*!"](https://todon.eu/@RadicalGraffiti/114909165424454352)

@kkarhan
You've said "it's not an illegal hijacking if it's trespassing a designated area."

and I stated that's clearly false. That's it. Don't just invent some other talking points in covering up that your claim was false.

There's a whole desperate starving population. Every effort in delivering aid is worth trying, to sav a few lives.
Blaming a brave team for doing it wrong while siding with those who are blockading aid is way below your level.

@katzenberger

@stephie_hamburg @katzenberger case in point:

Every attempt of that kind has reached exactly 0g of aid to the shores of Gaza.

  • It would've been more effective to use hydrogen baloons to ferry supplies across the borders of Gaza from Rafah...

It's not "brave", but doing random shit

  • And doing the exact same shit over and over again, expecting shit to change is crazy.

@kkarhan
If you know better ways, then: Do it. Do it instead of blaming those who are trying to deliver aid.
If you have enough time for blaming those who are trying to delivering aid, then you have clearly enough time to find more useful things to do.

@katzenberger

@stephie_hamburg @katzenberger I'd gladly do so and I've suggested so many times.

  • Those who can afford fuel for a boat can afford to build "Narco"-Torpedoes, period!

I got money for neither nor is this rocket science…

  • That whole "#FreedomFlotilla" is just some clout-chasing for no reason whatsoever...

@kkarhan
I've said what I've.
Do something productive instead of cheap nonconstructive criticism. It's annoying.

@katzenberger

@stephie_hamburg @katzenberger it is productive √>to criticize, unlike wasting literal tons of fuel oil to sail into a foreseeable boarding.

Again: I've got budget for neither, but if I had I'd defo not do some random bs.
