Finally replaced some old switches.

We have an odd lighting set up in the living room. The main switch controls two sconces, but there's a ceiling fan on one side and fixture on the other. All were HUE bulbs.

One of the HUE bulbs in the fixture died and since I hate HUE bulbs I decided to get a smart switch and use regular bulbs for the fixture.

Wiring was thankfully straightforward. Since I was there, bathroom got a modern switch update too.

@jwilker I don’t know why but smart switches don’t seem to exist here in the UK. It makes me so sad. Of course every room is also its own faraday cage.
@jeffwatkins @jwilker I can’t vouch for this switch, but I’ve got some Meross plugs and garage door controls and they work pretty well for me. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Control-Neutral-Requires-Compatible-HomeKit/dp/B08JQ4PTWD/

@jackbrewster @jeffwatkins Second Meross. That's what I just installed and have a few plugs and the garage door kit as well. Great products

@jwilker @jackbrewster That might work, but our place is full of wall plates like this.

Ideally, I’d like to replace all three at once. In the US that would likely be 3 separate switches.

@jeffwatkins @jwilker @jackbrewster would love to see what that junction box looks like with the plate off… one unit? Or three little ones?

@Drwave @jeffwatkins @jwilker @jackbrewster they're one unit, will look something like the attached image.

For some reason the UK loves having lots of light switches in various combinations. It's always an utter mess of wiring though. I have eight light switches when entering my kitchen... fun job for the electrician.

@neilinglis @Drwave @jeffwatkins @jwilker @jackbrewster I love your toggles.. are those from Corston? I just bought a single-unit triple toggle and the back is nice and tidy

We rewired recently and replaced the whole house with them.
