-Luigi Mangione, who killed an insurance executive, was charged with terrorism.
-Vance Boelten, who killed an elected Democratic representative & attempted to assassinate many more, was NOT charged with terrorism.

Someone explain this shit?

@goldstein Terrorism is the use of violence to effect policy change.

This is simply evidence that in the United States, corporate executives define public policy in a way that elected politicians do not.

@goldstein yeah. by whos on the supreme court

@Viss @goldstein

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

@Viss @goldstein if we can get Clarence Thomas ratified into historical record as the single most destructive, disgusting, vile, abomination to touch the bench; it will be a small victory.

That whole family line should be tainted and their wealth redistributed to the families of the lives it destroyed.

@goldstein

Because we live in a world where conservatives are not punished as much as progressives are.

@csstrowbridge @goldstein
You'll sometimes see liberals say something like, "conservatives are doing [bad thing] and the legal system says it's okay, so we should see how they like it when we do it back at them!"

And it's like... when has it *ever* worked that way in this country?

@goldstein There was a historical crime of terrorism (doing a big violence to put lots of people in fear or get a lot of attention for your political cause) but "tough on crime" pols loved putting "every crime is also terrorism" clauses in crime bills to thump their chests so now almost any crime can be charged as terrorism and partisan prosecutors get to charge "the other side's" criminals as terrorists while letting "their own" criminals slide w/o terrorism charges. Welcome to 2025!
@goldstein Federal vs state charges?
@deeznuts @goldstein
Yes. And no chance he can be pardoned for a conviction on state charges.

@goldstein the former's actions.impactef the #RulingClass and their safety, the latter one is a desireable #StochasticTerrorist.

@goldstein Allegedly killed insurance exec' surely?

@Pamela1960 @goldstein

Very allegedly.

From what I read, a lot of "evidence" could be thrown out, due to, you know, sloppy police work at best, or attempted framing at worst.

Allegedly, he ain't been convicted of nuthin' yet...

@goldstein @popularposts vance boelten is a republican.
@goldstein Luigi is an innocent man, framed for the act of public good done by the claims adjuster.

@goldstein I can. Power protects power. A system is what it does. 👀

We were never ever connected before like this tho. Like in 4K. On everyone's mobile cyberdeck. At the speed of light. Where language is no barrier anymore. All 7B of us. Platforms can be and are temporal. 💃

Change can't not come. Keep being the person you are, friend. You inspire so many. And together we will figure all this out. ✨

None of us chose to be here. That's the universal human condition. Including those "in" power! 🫂

But only together will we will figure this out. I'll see you at HOPE, friend. Gonna road trip it.✌️💙

@goldstein

Yes. It is called capitalism.

If you kill a democrat, thats no problem for capital. If you harm the owner class, you're fucked.

Read about what they did to the "red army faction" in germany and be shocked again. TW: "Suicide"

@goldstein easy: 1 of them allegedly helped the masses, the other 1 helped the fascists who are in charge right now and probably will get a promotion and job offer at ICE.
