Had a nice breakfast with an old neighbour friend this morning before stopping by their home to assist in a tech upgrade for Internet and TV services. A few minor issues resolved themselves with a little patience. Still unsure how their landline is supposedly connected to the setup, yet no changes were made to it.
This neighbour will be undertaking the rebuilding of my truck carburetor next week, to hopefully get it starting and running better. They have past experience with quadrajets.
Well, the carburetor rebuild took longer than anticipated, due to several unforseen problems that were discovered with it after disassembly. You can't go to an auto wrecker to get spare parts anymore as most vehicles in them are all fuel injected.
But, it was reinstalled today, with some adjustments made to get the idle at the right setting.
Also need to change the (discovered today, lol) inline fuel line filter before driving it more.
Still need to work to eliminate a separate engine miss fire.
The inline fuel filter was replaced this week. Looking at the old one, it's not quite as bad as it appeared when installed, but worth changing out, regardless. I'm disappointed that cold start times have not improved after these recent servicings. Must be something else going on that's the cause. But, one other thing completed today definitely made a difference, as new door latch bolts replaced the original ones which saw their rubber inserts both crumble to bits last summer. #ChevyTrucks
This year, 2025, was one I had been planning for years to make the move to an all electric vehicle by this autumn (September). However, due to all the tariff and political nonsense taking place, will hold off on doing so. Just doesn't feel like the right time to make such a purchase in the current environment, even though I would really like to. I had planned to custom order a 2026 model of some kind (small 4x4 SUV type) during this June/July but it's just not meant to be. #ElectricVehicle #EV
