well i just burned like four hours on the phone with CEA and SDGE trying to figure out what bullshit sleight of hand is happening that we push more power into the grid than we generate, but still have a bill.

i dont recommend it. its a horrible miserable slog

for-profit utilities are the worst and i can totally see why people move out of california because of these monsters

home assistant says my bill is like -300 for the month. the sdge bill comes and says my bill is -60. where did 240 dollars of credit go? oh, CEA took that. whats it good for? well they ... keep it. and it doesnt roll over. and no, they wont give it to sdge. and no generation power doesnt count towards delivery.

this is is like how student loans work but for power. they've just become parasitic and predatory

@Viss about a decade ago SDGE, SCE, and PG&E bribed legislators to do this, as all the houses with mandatory solar came online.
@zarchasmpgmr i wish for them all to walk into the sea, never to return
@Viss PG&E needs to be taken over by the state and their C-levels buried up to their necks next to Hetch Hetchy and then have honey poured over them.
