Staying hydrated & lining up the culinary bucket list for London this autumn. 🍻
@BasicAppleGuy if you’re looking for any recommendations then happy to help
@mttsmth Right now we’re just eyeballing quintessentially London eats and any good recommendations you have for Indian cuisine
@BasicAppleGuy Brick Lane for the experience. If budget is less of a considerations then Gymkhana (Michelin star). Darjeeling Express and Brigadiers are both unique and excellent and more reasonably priced.
@mttsmth @BasicAppleGuy Anywhere specific on Brick lane? I’ve heard there are good places there, but also so many tourist traps it’s like Russian roulette with five loaded chambers. Tayyabs nearby is particularly great for lamb chops. Dosa World, also nearby, is cheap and cheerful, and particularly good for, of course, Dosa. Any branch of Roti King. My personal go to is Dosa n Chutney, and a walk between there and Tooting Bec yields a road full of of interesting related places.
@tuckerjj @BasicAppleGuy re brick lane, not really. As another person mentioned, it’s for the experience not necessarily the curry (though I’ve had some excellent ones). I’d usually goto one of the busier / less pushy ones that I liked the look of
@BasicAppleGuy @mttsmth only been to London a few times but going down Brick Lane for Indian is a must. Just choose somewhere and see what happens. The experience of it all is great. Hawksmoor was also great for some more English fair, the yorkies were wonderful. Never did find good fish and chips though
