Headline: Bringing Quote Posts to Mastodon
Me: These implementation features are encouraging:

🔹 You will be able to withdraw your post from the quoted context at any time.

Quote posts give oxygen to bad actors. It gives them a platform they don't deserve and shouldn't have.
Any racist, homophobic, misogynist a-hole can post something despicable. It already happens here (although nowhere near as much as on the bird site). With quote posts coming, I foresee a multitude of folks QP'ing, dunking on the author and their opinions, and unwittingly promoting their bigotry.
Nothing I've read so far will protect the Fediverse from this.
I have a hard time envisioning any sort of technical guardrails that will keep QP's from making the Fediverse experience worse.
I've never wanted Quote Posts.
I still do not.
