Learning how to create skeuomorphic user interfaces.
It's pretty slow and calming so far.
Doing it all with SwiftUI previews. Works better than expected.
#Macrowave is a native macOS & iOS app that makes it easy and fun to share system audio with friends to listen to music together.
If that's something you are interested in, shoot me a DM.
Played around with @ryanlintott's LookingGlassUI for #Macrowave's iOS app. It gives this shiny effect to glass elements while tilting the phone.
The library is really cool. Not sure if I like it in Macrowave yet. What do you think?
#Macrowave is now available for pre-order on the Mac App Store.

Experimenting with different app icon designs in @Sketch.
Not sure if we should lean into the pirate theme.
We finally released a new TestFlight version of #Macrowave.
It now includes all the features we want to include in the launch version.
• Sign in with Apple
• Improved station management
• Push notifications for when a station broadcasts again
If you want to have early access, shoot me a DM. Will open more slots soon.
#Macrowave has a new home.
We updated the website before we invite more people to TestFlight because we wanted to improve the experience for listeners that don't have access to the #Macrowave app on their Mac or iPhone.
We also improved how publicly shared URLs look like.
You can find one of my stations here: https://macrowave.co/lucas/house-vibes

Listening to dirty rally house on here for the next couple of hours. 🤙
We are so thankful for all of the support we got for #Macrowave from all of you over the last days.
Thank you so much everyone <3
The launch went a little bit rough. We wanted to push another bug fix update yesterday night, but App Store Review seems to have decided to look into #Macrowave for real this time and found a whole lot of new reasons to reject our update twice already. Will continue working on this tomorrow.
There was a critical bug that prevented some people from using the broadcaster today. We were able to fix that server-side, so if that didn't work for you previously, you can try again now.
@technicat that sucks, but also does not surprise me anymore...
Sometimes it's just so much work getting an update through review. :(
@netopwibby that's a really fun idea! I love that. We were thinking about sending reactions that the broadcaster will receive, but a chat room also sounds interesting.
What would you use it for?
@lucas Not sure about the pirate theme questions.
But what I will say – jump early into testing at real sizes on real devices. It feels like you are designing too "zoomed in". Most likely cramping this amount of components will make feel each of them individually to minuscule. My guess would be: try the display only, to get the letters bigger, and pixelation pattern more prominent.
thank you for your advice, @mrudokas, as always <3
Will play around with it.
Here is what it looks like on iOS right now.
@johjakob thank you, Johannes!
I thought something was off but didn’t know what. Smooth corners did the trick! ❤️
