You CAN NOT deport a citizen as they did not PORT from anywhere.
There is a word for this.
It's BANISHMENT.
Expelling somebody from a country is the definition of deport

The alarm over this has to do with the concept that Donald Trump is stripping citizens naturalized or native born of their citizenship and then kicking with the intention of kicking them out of the country.
I don’t know if banishment does any better a job.
