One UI 8 Watch Beta for Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra clarification
Since the Beta program for the newest Galaxy watches released last year was released for users to get an early access to the One UI 8 Watch system, it was only made available for the USA and for Korean users. In the USA, Samsung offered to open the Beta program for the Galaxy Watch Ultra users.
Despite the availability, many Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra users were unable to download the latest beta software for their watches, especially when they didn’t connect the watch to an active T-Mobile network plan. Samsung was made aware of this issue through the official beta program feedback by users reporting this issue. If you are on the Bluetooth version of Galaxy Watch7, you don’t need to read further.
As a result, a new thread was created that clarified the reasons as to why the Galaxy Watch Ultra users were unable to download the beta version of One UI 8 Watch, despite having already joined the program.
The conditions for being able to receive the first beta update have been clarified. When your Galaxy Watch Ultra is not connected to any T-Mobile network, you won’t be able to receive any software update.
You can confirm that your smartwatch has been connected to an active T-Mobile network plan by going to your watch settings. Watches that are connected to such network plan must look like this:
Once you confirm that your watch is connected to an active T-Mobile network plan, you can start downloading the update.
