After 6 years in active development, we have committed to exiting beta and officially launching Orion v1.0 in November this year ✨

Orion is a privacy-focused WebKit browser with a powerful built-in ad blocker and zero telemetry: https://kagi.com/orion/

@kagihq How’s it doing with Gmail RAM usage these days? I have to use Gmail for work, and it’s been a real deal breaker in the past.
@RyanHyde @kagihq Q: how do you find ram usage of gmail in Safari?
Because both are webkit based, so it's possible that Google just doesn't like webkit browsers.
@thibaultmol @kagihq Likely the case, but not being a developer, I don’t know if it’s possible to mitigate that somehow
@kagihq For over 7 months, I've used only your browser. There were some issues, but you fixed them and continue to improve. I really miss the full-page translation feature, like the one in Safari, but otherwise, you've created a great product.
@maxk Thank you so much for this great feedback. We are working consistently to improve stability and extension support until it becomes a highly reliable daily driver for many users. We will also continue to expand its features (including translation) and availability on different platforms once Linux launch is complete early next year. Really appreciate your encouragement 🙏
@kagihq the moment you release even a usable alpha for Linux I'll hop aboard 👀
@jameswalters Orion for Linux on track to be released by Q1 2026 🙂
