I have no idea what this is, but if you ever needed a flow chart on how to make Salisbury steak, LOL

#salisburysteak #flowchart #diagram

Hmm, I suspect people in Salisbury, MD would just skip all the steps and use the blast freezer

@ai6yr @Lightfighter Don't even get me started on MIL Spec Pizza
@michaelwaggoner @Lightfighter LOL is there such a thing? Egads
@ai6yr @Lightfighter 20 years and God knows how much money they managed to achieve eternally shelf stable pizza. https://epidemicproof.com/products/2023-mre-meal-23-pepperoni-pizza-slice
MRE - Pepperoni Pizza

@michaelwaggoner @ai6yr @Lightfighter I really have to say that "pizza" does not look very pizza, lol. And it's pretty small isn't it?

This reminds me though, I still need to properly figure out how to make matzo bread. (It's theoretically easy, but getting it right not so much!)

@nazokiyoubinbou @ai6yr @Lightfighter It is pretty small but it's pretty dense and thick. Also they come with snacks to supplement like candy and bread sticks.

@michaelwaggoner @ai6yr @Lightfighter True enough.

And if you're living on MREs you take what you can get too I know. I just wonder if I'd have the control not to break into another, lol. (And then surely regret it after when that ultra-dense bread becomes a problem.)

@nazokiyoubinbou @ai6yr @Lightfighter There's almost always extras kicking around and people willing to discard the bits they don't want. The real threat are guys in the rear stealing all the candies while you're a couple miles away and miserable (a practice known as rat f*cking).
@michaelwaggoner @ai6yr @Lightfighter Aren't they designed to be the optimal balance if you eat exactly what is in it, no more, no less?
@nazokiyoubinbou @ai6yr @Lightfighter Maybe at a macro level (they are very carb heavy) but considering an MRE tends to cap out at like 2000 calories and a busy day in the field with lots of marching and make you burn much more than that hunger can still strike.
@michaelwaggoner @nazokiyoubinbou @ai6yr @Lightfighter I used to eat about three to four a day with so many FIBER capsules lol
@camless @michaelwaggoner @ai6yr @Lightfighter MREs are awfully expensive to be eating that frequently aren't they?
@nazokiyoubinbou @camless @ai6yr @Lightfighter Depends who's paying. Online shops are like $23 but at the PX they were only $8 and the Army and otherorgs definitely pay less than that.
@michaelwaggoner @camless @ai6yr @Lightfighter Well, it would still be pretty wasteful even in that. MREs are for storage, not for regular use. However, it turns out Cadmus had a pretty darned good reason there...
@nazokiyoubinbou @camless @ai6yr @Lightfighter It's also a portability thing. I can carry 72 hours of meals with me in my ruck in MRE form. Can't really do that with fresh food and it's hard to deliver food over rough terrain.

@michaelwaggoner @camless @ai6yr @Lightfighter Yeah, I don't disagree with that and that's basically what they described in the other post. (That and extreme situations.)

I'm only saying that it wouldn't be right for regular use.
