@GeofCox I can't recall where I saw a graphic about what people want. They were pretty much on the same page regardless of political views: social security, public transport, public health, education, etc. - everything a normal person would want.
So what can you do when people are on the same page? Throw something in front of them they can fight about like gender, immigration, etc. - it works like magic: Divide people and distract them from the true issues.
And if that stops working - start a war.
@clintruin indeed. Also, a symptom of fascism. Very worrying.
Clearly, we can't allow priests and family members to read to children!
It was 93,6% men in 2021 in the US according to this report: https://www.ussc.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/research-and-publications/quick-facts/Sexual_Abuse_FY21.pdf
Pretending that sexual assault by women (or people outside of the binary, for that matter) doesn't exist makes it harder for victims of such actions to understand and deal with their own experiences.
That doesn't negate the fact that sexual assault by cis men is a MASSIVE problem and a systemic issue, of course.
Thanks. ♥️
Reminds me of heterosexuals doubting homosexual parents could not raise children in a non "deviant" way. As if heterosexual couples had a stellar track record and no abuse.
And one is now president (well, dictator actually) of the USA
I actually question those 5, too. With our justice system the way it is, they were likely railroaded.
I spent half a year in jail for a crime I didn't commit, that the DA *knew* I didn't commit. Not a sex crime, mind you, but still....
