Big journalism (BJ) chose to report on "discontent and protest" while people were being stolen from their lives. They weren't important people though.
The intense (BJ) focus on individual people wronged (one guy sent to a prison vs the thousands of lives upended) make this story a vignette to be forgotten. Is that a bug or a feature of (BJ)?
Is (BJ) complicit in the whitewash of our evils today? I don't think you or anyone can say no with confidence. We made and allow this sadly.

It would be funnier to warn them that they will be deported, but that's not actually constitutional.
