entirely normal evening... worked late for a customer call and heard a crash... there's been an incident outside the house... a cyclist was chased by a car, these two people definitely know each other well, the cyclist pulled a huge knife (machete), cyclist dove through the driver window (and stabbing motion occurred), and the car reversed wildly and smashed into two parked cars, the cyclist immediately runs on the bike and cycles away, and the car drives away.

totally wild, the next major neighbourhood over is stabby, but I didn't think my street was stabby.

now the disabled person who lives opposite has no car, so I'm helping them with their insurance claim by providing the doorbell footage (local recording only)

am still dealing with the fallout from this.

so it turns out that yes, this was a major knife incident between a drug dealer and either a customer or another dealer.

a nearby area has a stabby problem, and Wood Green / Tottenham has a gang problem, but it seems this is starting to overspill into surrounding areas.

the hypothesis that the police and neighbours all seem to be working under is that the dealer on the bicycle was being chased, fled up a one-way system to get away, and the car went around and intercepted on the street I live on... and that's when the cyclist pulled the machete and launched himself pre-emptively through the open driver-side window.

the collision was the driver trying to end the attack and shake off the knife attacker.

both escaped... but there's no way that neither of them escaped some injury.

I'd upload the rather insane video of this incident, but my instance seems to not like it.
@dee and… that’s the same street you accidentally left a car unlocked with the keys inside for weeks with no issue??
