I use em dashes (but I'm a rebel so I use a regular dash between spaces - fucking sue me) all the time in my writing, and have been doing so for decades. I use it as a way to connect thoughts in a very specific way, a way that no other punctuation mark conveys.

Fuck the rules, man. Writing (and speaking) is always evolving, always changing, always morphing. YoU kan l1t3r4lly do ʷʰᵃᵗᵉᵛᵉʳ the բᵤ꜀ₖ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ.

@thomholwerda Ironically, your use of "literally" is grammatically correct and even bolsters your position.
@thomholwerda Punctuation is mostly silence notation like music sheets anyway
@thomholwerda you can do whatever you want but please avoid the mixed unicode stuff, screen readers have a really bad time with that ;_;
@thomholwerda last time I had a bad feeling that a text is from AI, Inchecked for the presence of em-dashes. They were just a bonus indicator.
The main giveaway was the complete emptyness and soulless text.
