All of the "here are the 10 things you need to do to prepare for protesting" advice is actually a huge barrier that may keep #adhd people from attending. For us, the only thing more overwhelming than the rise of #fascism is a lengthy to-do list that needs to be accomplished before a deadline.

#Protests #NoKings

I want to go out and #protest today, but my #adhd makes me simply incapable of handling the logistics. I can assure you that I've been quietly stressing out over it for weeks though!

#NoKings

@mikemccaffrey It is absolutely understandable that those lists are intimidating and clog up the executive function. This is part of why the best advice I've seen about fighting back reminds us that not everyone is going to be able to fight back in the same ways.

Do what you can, how you can. If safely going to a protest isn't possible, look at smaller things that don't tax your executive function — mutual aid, helping your neighbors, or starting the difficult conversations with people in your peer group to help protect those with less privilege for example.

Don't stress if you can't protest, the fascists don't want to make it easy. Let others handle it and find something that doesn't conflict with your executive function instead.
