I just got a new computer and I installed Linux on it but I’ve been wanting to try Unreal engine (it seems like a good career decision) but it doesn’t actually seem to work on Linux (there is a build but it crashes every time I try opening a project).

So now I’m stuck with a moral dilemma, either I stick with FOSS and not get proficient with one of the industries most used tools, or I install windows 11 🤢.

Idk what to do, so I guess that’s why I’m posting this lol.

@raccoonformality Are you trying to run it from the compiled engine source or from the Epic launcher? My understanding is the Epic version of it does not work on Linux and you have to compile it from source.

@Chagrins you can’t download the epic launcher on Linux, there is no Linux version

@raccoonformality Okay, I had seen people doing it but they probably were using Wine or something similar.

What error are you running into when you launch Unreal?
