I just got a new computer and I installed Linux on it but I’ve been wanting to try Unreal engine (it seems like a good career decision) but it doesn’t actually seem to work on Linux (there is a build but it crashes every time I try opening a project).

So now I’m stuck with a moral dilemma, either I stick with FOSS and not get proficient with one of the industries most used tools, or I install windows 11 🤢.

Idk what to do, so I guess that’s why I’m posting this lol.

#gamedev #unreal #linux

@raccoonformality Linux Admin here, not a game designer. My quick research says the #unreal will run on #Linux, but it may need more setup or additional assets. If you're in the "I just want it to start!" phase, then pay attention to the errors you are getting and see if you can resolve them. It's also to know your new hardware and make sure Unreal is not complaining about it. Try to research and solve on problem at a time. In the end it will pay off. Cheers!
