Guys, I think I downloaded the wrong developer release. My Mac OS GUI is looking a lot more polished and refined than what I am seeing on apple.com

@Eggfreckles @NorwayJose I like the version number. Really was NeXTSTEP 5+.

I’ve been using the same OS since 1988. :) (overlooking a few unfortunate gaps…)

@Eggfreckles Whoa, you’re right! I’d say that design is NeXT level!

@morrick @Eggfreckles Gods, that was beautiful.

Sure, a little boxy, but get those toolbar icons out of their boxes, shrink them by a quarter or so, and you've got something pretty dang solid.

Clear distinction between UI and data/content. Obvious controls. Visual affordances.

@octothorpe @Eggfreckles BeOS was also lovely.
@morrick @Eggfreckles i liked the look of the ‘shorty’ titlebars, but they became annoying when you wanted to move stuff.
@Eggfreckles Thank you. I will cherish this image forever, seriously!
@morrick you can download VMware Fusion for free and I can send you the virtual machine.
@Eggfreckles @morrick It’s also on Infinite Mac https://infinitemac.org
Infinite Mac

A classic Mac loaded with everything you'd want.

@Eggfreckles I have both, but thank you so much for the thought! I appreciate it.
@Eggfreckles @morrick Its a shame that GNUstep was so fugly. I would have written software for it.
@Eggfreckles wow they really improved the legibility since the keynote - nice work!

@Eggfreckles

Oh, I see the problem: You downloaded the *Server* version of OS X.

@Eggfreckles wow, that sure brings back a lot of memories!
@Eggfreckles with Intel (Pentium) inside no less. How is that 64 megabytes holding up?
@WillFlux no Apple Intelligence
How is it running on a Pentium? It does look nice.
@thedaemon @Eggfreckles the Rhapsody developer releases were released for x86 as well as powerpc

@Eggfreckles Platinum design language MacOS was best MacOS.

Change my mind.
