At this point, I get the feeling that if Apple ever did release an actual TV, the screen would have rounded corners.
@siracusa Like the original YouTube icon?
@siracusa Also, you would be able to see your living room wall through the screen.

@jamesthomson I think LG already did that.

Didn’t make any sense then either.

@jamesthomson @siracusa I think LG already did that with their transparent screen...
@siracusa You’ve got to buy the Director’s Mode TV to get all the corners
@siracusa But the non-readable glassy buttons would snuggle right into these corners.
@siracusa rounded corners on that transparent lg oled panel.
@siracusa Rectangles John, rectangles. Its a 'roundedreq' in Apple land, not a corner. They have never seen a corner before.
@siracusa presented with rounded corners to preserve Alan Dye’s original vision

@siracusa In System 7 or Mac OS 8/9, was it ever a bug that could happen where the faked rounded corners (were they just images?) of the screen would not load and you’d get square corners? I swear I remember that being a thing.

Also, I remember the first time I saw a PowerBook with the square corners and was jealous.

@freehours9 Not sure about a bug, but yeah, the (barely) rounded corners in classic Mac OS were just black pixels in the corners that made the shapes. But they went away for full-screen stuff.
@siracusa Somewhere Bill Atkinson is smiling.
@siracusa Upgrade to TV Pro Max for 120FPS 🤦
