The rise of neoliberal economic policies signalled the move away from caring, responsible economic and Social policies and their replacement with a Libertarian disregard for the fact that we are ALL embedded in Society and have responsibilities toward one another.
For some reason, people forget that it, and now it has become one of Western Society's baseline assumptions.
