Sometimes I think that AMD started to understand why CUDA is the big thing everybody uses, then I read the HIP-7.0 release notes and I get reminded that they indeed don't understand it.

@oblomov nah, they break comparability in order to be more like CUDA. Meaning, they break code, so that more code will need less porting or something...

They really need to stop doing that. It drives developers crazy.

They clearly must be aware that cuda is good because there aren't any surprises.
