If you had six months off work without having to worry about finances, what would you do?

@stu
Month 1
Rest. Yoga. Irish bicycling road trip.

Month 2
House. Fixes and room configuration.

Month 3
Rest. Holiday with my family, longer than 2 weeks!

Month 4
Reading - clear the book backlog. Maybe write something based on that - a consolidation of notes.

Month 5
Learning. An intensive course in something that creates tangible output - pottery, 3d printing, or similar.

Month 6
More yoga! Tie up loose ends from preceding months.

@stu

Across the six months, I’d try to have lunch once a week with a friend, do some short trips (to a specific show, exhibition or restaurant) and maybe get in a faraway location too.

Highly enjoyable thought exercise, thanks!

@stu Probably work on my side projects. 😅 Or build a small house, although half a year seems too little for that. 🤣
@stu compose music, record an album 🎶

@stu

Travel to the SE coast of Spain and look for a spot, a village maybe where I could live on my limited income at the end of the 6 months.

@stu I would split my time between home repair projects and writing.

@stu

Travel with my camera. I'd love to be able to "stay on location" for an extended period of time. Just moving slowly and maybe seeing it change with seasons.

I'd start in Scotland, take a trip up to Shetland then back down to Ireland. Then spend the last six weeks in Venice, Italy.

Well, you said "without worrying about finances" :)

@stu travel, maybe. Wait until I actually want to do something
@stu lots of cooking. Cooking for people.
@stu Travel across the globe.
@stu Continue to be retired. Worry about being old instead.
@stu I love many of the answers you've received so far.

Rest, travel with family for more than a week or two, I'd love to start getting in to bike camping and doing longer adventures of that sort.

Rest.

More reading.
