I think I've been doing a relatively good job degoogling myself recently! I've been slowly moving my email from GMail to StartMail (!!!). My passwords are now in Bitwarden, I'm no longer using Pixel Launcher (although my phone is still a Pixel, planning to move to FairPhone in the future).

I think next big move might be Google Photos?

@dean Congrats on your progress in the de-Googling journey! Since you mentioned your phone...

If you haven't already, consider keeping your Pixel and loading an alternative version of Android. I'm enjoying #GrapheneOS (https://grapheneos.org/), but #Lineage and /e/OS are popular as well.

All of these give you control over how much (or little) you want Google in your phone. For example, I enable the Google Play store to get access to my paid apps, but keep most everything else turned off.

EDIT: Scrolling down your posts a bit suggests that I'm preaching to the choir, in which case please ignore me 😅

GrapheneOS: the private and secure mobile OS

GrapheneOS is a security and privacy focused mobile OS with Android app compatibility.

GrapheneOS

@surefire I'm in the market for a new phone in this upcoming fall, and I'd really like Qi2 support built-in. It seems like there's a new Fairphone every 2 years or so, and a new one should be releasing this year?

If Fairphone 6 has Qi2 I'll probably use that with Google Android (bleh, but none of my banking apps support /e/OS). If Pixel 10 has Qi2, I'll probably get a Pixel 10 with GrapheneOS. Otherwise I'll probably get some used phone + a MagSafe sticker/case LOL
