Hard to believe they’re talking about the same event.

Bluesky Social
I guess we can keep doing this.
@davidho.bsky.social The #NYT must have access to better sedatives.

@davidho.bsky.social Wow. So this must be what the husband meant when he told me yesterday that Trump went completely off his rocker again (husband has dementia, so he couldn't remember the event, but that much he still can tell).

And yes, the NYT is complicit.

@davidho.bsky.social @davidho One is in the US and staff has to worry about being deported to a Central American concentration camp, the other is in the UK and doesn’t
@dogzilla @davidho.bsky.social @davidho The Times has always sane washed trump. Treating him as if he is like any other politician to occupy the white house.
@BLTpizza @dogzilla @davidho.bsky.social @davidho
That's untrue. The Times absolutely does know how to portray a President as a crook; look at what they did to Bill Clinton and later to Hillary as a candidate. That they haven't given Trump the same treatment even though his criminality is real, blatant, and severe is a sign they're complicit.
@davidho.bsky.social the New York Times is completely compromised. But that's not new. They've been garbage for a long time.
@davidho.bsky.social They seem so desperate for approval, that when Trump calls them "the failing New York Times" they say "yes sir, will do our duty for you and fail."
@davidho.bsky.social was NOT an address ...but an senile driven tangent...sadly ridiculous 🚨🚨🚨
@davidho.bsky.social Is this from an educational powerpoint on sanewashing?
@davidho.bsky.social more like "entering an era of doddering imbecility"
@davidho.bsky.social Thanks for this post comparing two headlines. Beautifully illustrates exactly why I dumped NYT subscription! (The Guardian feels much more balanced.)
@davidho.bsky.social As I now frequently say: fuck the NYT.

@davidho.bsky.social

I will not pay to read a NYT piece.

@davidho.bsky.social

Al Capone, like Fred Hampton and the Panthers, set up soup kitchens and fed the poor. Like all the time.

But I bet that's not the kind of thing Capone did that Trump is talking about.

Oh, and the Genovese crime family funded the very first Pride parades in New York, because they owned the Stonewall and a few other gay bars.

In case Trump starts fawning over mobsters he might actually know

@davidho.bsky.social “Congratulations on graduating from West Point. I’m actively gutting the VA system that provides care for veterans after they exit service.”
@davidho.bsky.social remember that Bush explicitly disavowed nation building and Rumsfeld threatened to court martial any officer who so much as read the State Department’s Iraq reconstruction plan. Calling it in retrospect a nation building exercise is farcical, that’s exactly what the people in charge were trying to avoid.
