@camaradademian

Does Batman know this?

@doctorwhom @camaradademian no but that could be an interesting study how media has warped our sense of “real life” and what functions our institutions serve.

@camaradademian Cops sometimes(or often - depending on where you live/level of unaccountable dysfunction at your local PD) commit crimes or escalate an already tense situation by being bigoted jerkfaces with too much authoritive badge/gun power & not near enough rational intelligence.
@PhoenixSerenity @camaradademian Like my grandpa always said, "If you got a problem, don't call the cops cause then you got two problems."
@camaradademian The job of police is to clean up the mess and enforce the law for the good of society. Where "society" is defined as "the privileged, who write the laws and fund the police".
@camaradademian probably depends on the country. At least in Switzerland, crime prevention is also part of the duty.

@FlohEinstein @camaradademian I mean I see some driving around in Germany and other people suddenly remember that we have speed limits or areas where you are not allowed to overtake others.

But there are also studies that find patrols only work when used in hot-spots. So at specific places and at specific times.
