Today's #MITFlea / #Swapfest was fantastic! So much cool stuff to see, and I met two people from here (i.e., the Fediverse) while browsing around. Also got 6 StreetPass pings on my Nintendo #3DS while I was there - it's consistently the best place I know of for that, aside from PAX (where I got 56 in two days, but that's a special circumstance).

I will post photos later today.

I'll start with my last picture first. A reasonable person would not have walked out with this, but I was not that person today. $100, intact and with all its cards and drives and RAM, in its original packaging.

These folks (https://www.patreon.com/niftymuseum) were very friendly and set up right inside the entrance. They explained that they have a small museum in Hyannis, Massachusetts, visits by appointment only. A small table but a great way to start.

Today's #MITFlea seemed to be very #Apple-heavy. I saw two working #IIgs systems for sale, complete with drives and monitors and everything. There were two trashcan Macs for sale, and one was gone by the time I was leaving. And this iBook looked to be in amazing shape.

Also rack servers. The springtime always seems to be when a person would want to hit up the Flea for rack servers.
A very weird computer case. The sellers admitted that they didn't know how to open it, and were wondering whether passers-by might.
Instructions in German, and the kit in the box behind, to construct your own 256 bit core memory!

Lots of old games, including this box for Wing Commander II in amazing condition! I think my cousins had this, I remember the box and the game so well.

My kid was wondering whether I wanted to add a #Sega Genesis to the home stable of consoles, given that we have so many others. I passed, but can't say I didn't think about it.

#Retrogaming

My kid and I were admiring this setup. It reminded me of @nicole and their writing about old arcade machines.

General fun stuff.
A very kind person *gifted* me a Blinks Game Maker Bundle, which is this awesome programmable tactile game tile kit (https://move38.com/pages/game-makers)! The currently loaded game is "Wham!" -- an implementation of Whack-A-Mole -- that I've been playing with my kids this afternoon.

And, to go with the G4 tower that followed me home, I picked up pair of Apple-to-VGA adapters, as well as a larger Belkin box that does Apple-to-VGA as well as PS/2 to ADB. I think it was all three for $10, so I figure I'm not out a lot if some don't work.
Oh, I forgot to post this photo! This Philco television from 1957 is just an absolutely beautiful design. The seller told me that it works, with an asterisk. It's still running on its original tube, and the picture is very faint.
