Iraq combat veteran here, Gold Star dad of another Iraq combat veteran, his little brother is a veteran and my dad is an Army veteran. No need at all for a REALLY expensive military parade just because the FOTUS (a/k/a Mr. “I always wanted to get the Purple Heart”) wants one for his friggen birthday.

I mean, it's a bit different to have a parade for winning WW2, and quite different to celebrate the crimes against humanity that were Vietnam and Iraq.

(And dodging drafts seems like something any sane and moral person does when you're not fighting defensively, or at least allies with similar ethics.)

@raktheundead @iju It’s one thing to dodge the draft in the 1960s to avoid something like Vietnam but it’s something else to do that and have the nerve to say years later, which the FOTUS did in 2016 during a presidential campaign rally “I always wanted to get the Purple Heart.”
