Hello friends! I am excited to (re)share the #mentalhealth project I started two years ago: https://littlebetterzine.com

Little Better Zines are free guides to evidence based coping skills – now expanded and redesigned with new info and improved accessibility.

These are techniques I often share with therapy patients, but I know not everyone has access to therapy. I hope you find these zines helpful, and I’d be grateful if you repost/share the link with anyone who might need them!

Little Better Zines

Little Better Zines These pocket-sized guides don't have the solutions to your big problems, but they can make coping a little easier when life is difficult. These strategies are not guaranteed to work for everyone, but with a little time and practice they do make a difference for many people. Each

@feelnotes I didn't see you over on Bluesky but I shared these there as well. Thank you for making them.
@jessamyn thank you for sharing them!
@feelnotes I appreciate this, as someone working through a program on self compassion and loving-kindness meditation for my own mental health issues
@MetalheadDana I know it’s not for everyone, but I find loving-kindness meditation very helpful

@feelnotes

These look lovely & I have bookmarked the page.

Question/request: do you have anything for #ADHD frustration? & ongoing issue I struggle with is that my frustration instantaneously goes from 1 to 11 when I hit a snag, & it would be really great to have some strategies to manage/prevent that.

(Obvious ones already in play—when I manage it: make sure I'm adequately fed/watered/slept/washed in an ongoing way. But that's not always possible/enough.)

Would love to see some pointers. >

@feelnotes

The guide for managing strong emotions would seem the most obvious, but doesn't really apply, as it is more general, slower paced, & intellectual.

@feelnotes these are really cool. Thank you for sharing and making available on a website 🎉
@flamed thanks, and you’re welcome!
@feelnotes These look great, thanks for putting stuff like this on the web! Just a little usability suggestion: If you want to bookmark the site, the browser proposes the title of the site as the name of the bookmark. Currently this is "home" which is something I'd probably never find again in my bookmarks. Consider changing it to something like "Little better zines – coping strategies to improve your mental health" or something like that (also good for SEO if you care about this).
@lilo ah I didn’t realize that, thanks for letting me know! Will update the title asap

@feelnotes I love these so much.

idea: if you put a CC-BY license on it then maybe people could build on them with drawings, or additional ideas... stuff like that. Likely no-one would but, it'd be cool if they did.

@masukomi so glad you like them, and I do have a CC-BY license on the bottom of the webpage - would love for folks to adapt or expand them!
@feelnotes Things to Do without a SmartPhone (Iʼm energized just reading the lists!)
@ScoterD so glad to hear that!

@feelnotes

This is beautiful and thank you.
