Going far out of the atmosphere for #TuneTuesday today with the theme #SpaceWalk.

My first pick was already picked by @Kitty (great minds, eh?) so I’ve got to take evasive manoeuvres and fire the orbital thrusters to change the orbit in a little less crowded orbit.

This orbit seems fine *looks at the underground #BlackMetal orbit.

#German outfit Vorga will blast you in to orbit with their cosmic #AtmosphericBlackMetal (but to say it has got no atmosphere aint right….)

@lpl @Kitty It is definitely a fit, especially if you know where the band's name came from 😁
@yourfutureex @Kitty Well, I guess I don’t. Please do tell :)
@lpl @Kitty It was a name of a spaceship from #AlfredBester's novel "The Stars My Destination" (or "Tiger! Tiger!", depending on the edition). One of my faves, recommended read, even if some of the names sound...odd these days, e.g. a heroine is called Jiz 🤷‍♀️
@yourfutureex @Kitty The timing of this recommendation is perfect since I've just finished the whole #HyperionCantos. Thank you!
@lpl @Kitty It won't beat the Cantos for sure, but a great read nonetheless. It was one of the first SF books I ever read (the other was "Childhood's End" by Clarke). Considered proto-cyberpunk, beat the actual genre by more than two decades. Featured in almost all "Best SF" lists.
Sorry for #Fangirling 😁
@yourfutureex @Kitty And if you can live with sentences like: ""Sherlock!" Watson ejaculated (...)" in a non slashfiction way I think I'll get through it.
