apparently there is a “rave collective” in toronto that has offered to be on-call for any reports of right-wing protests to bring a portable sound system and drown them out with 200bpm hardcore acid techno
i am so fucking here for this

@ElectricDryad @jepyang there was also some guy with a sousaphone who would march alongside Nazis playing March of the Elephants over and over, which was pretty damn good

@ariaflame That's a phenomenally difficult piece ...
Silicon Valley democrat socialists of America had a band for a moment. We didn't use it for activism. But we did march in the Mayday Parade.
@jepyang Awesome!
Here in Denmark, there was this dude, who would rock up to right-wing extremist protests armed with a saxophone and a sign saying something like: “Free jazz against racism”. Then he would start producing the loudest and most hideous sounds on the sax, and he would continue relentlessly, until the extremists packed their shit up and left.
And lets not forget Stop Brexit Man Steve Bray, who loudly played D:Ream's "Things Can Only Get Better" on the edge of Downing Street as Rishi Sunak announced a general election in pouring rain. The song is clearly audible in all the press coverage:
Oh yeah, we should do this in the Netherlands with #fabertje 😂
I just tried to picture such a competition, and my blood ran cold. Truly terrifying to contemplate.
Here we go, it was called “Free Jazz Mod Paludan!” (“Free Jazz Against Paludan!”): https://www.instagram.com/smagpaadigselv/p/B_rgZ9MB3rd/
It was specifically directed toward a right wing extremist asshole, Rasmus Paludan, who almost got elected for the Danish parliament 6 years ago (he’s got a quite extensive wikipedia page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasmus_Paludan).

I recall that as a graduate student in the late 1960s I had a next door neighbour who started to have BBC Radio 2 on quite loud late at night (possible to mask the sound of various nocturnal activities).
I discovered Peter Brötzmann's Machine Gun. I played it once and never heard anything from him again.
I still feel a little guilty about that,..
Not all heroes wear capes. Some carry sound systems.
@jepyang the underground has always been a safe space for the marginalized!
i saw a fucking kekistan flag at Shambhala on the same day the Charlottesville Unite the Right attack happened and it was on-sight.....defend your scene no matter what it is, fight where we stand.
