GM Note for Echoes of Invasion:
Of all the peoples that Tric and Heppa interacted with, the saurians felt the most foreign to me. They have very short lives, they have a very rigid gender divide in their societal roles, and they are not mammalian. Those are all details from their entry in the BfW wiki (https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Saurians). I decided to lean further into all that in this arc, inspired by the various fish, reptiles, and amphibians that can change sex (https://www.treehugger.com/animals-can-change-their-sex-4869361).

Saurians are small, slender, and lizard-like creatures. Much smaller than their Drake allies, they rarely stand taller than a ten year old child, though the distance from the tip of their snout to the end their tail can be as long as the average man is tall. Light and nimble, the warriors prefer to fight as they hunt- slipping through enemy lines to target the weak and the injured while their slender figures allow them to evade their attackers.

Although the saurians Salras is not #transgender in the same sense as a human in the real world might be, I did talk with the transgender player in our group prior to introducing this topic, just to make sure I handled it in a way we would all be comfortable with.

Echoes of Invasion continues:
Following the most recent debacle, Tric and Heppa accept the help of yet another faction for resting and healing up. Along with Kachen, Heledd, and Chassin, they follow Bzzazz to the saurian encampment. The wagon is left to rot where it made its last stand as a barricade, but they do cut the ponies free. Tric is sure the Horse Clan forces will understand about the lost wagon; this is a war after all...
